What I discovered this week is that Patina alone is just way too much for my visual tastes, but paired with a near equal amount of earthy brown tones, it will mellow and become warm in ways that I never imagined. I don’t know why I never realized this fact in my easel painting before; perhaps it’s because I never let patina play such a prominent role in a composition. Well, now I know how to tame it, so game on.

Beyond the color analysis, Danirose sure is working that suede skirt. The men in the studio say she has “Pippa Butt”, referring to Pippa Middleton’s famous shapely backside.

Alrighty then, there are worse things, I suppose.

Next week’s color in The Challenge is Alice Blue, which should be fun, especially if we run into the Cheshire Cat or a hookah smoking caterpillar during the search!

I love this look! Who knew that Iron could snuggle up to “cute” in such a nice way? Maybe little gray bunnies knew it, I guess.

Next week’s color is Patina, a lovely greenish-gray. That is going to be a true challenge – I can honestly say that I don’t recall ever seeing clothing that color in SL. The search is on!

I had great fun putting this ensemble together for The Challenge – the dress is eclectic and so richly colored, it made me smile the first time I saw it.

(Yes, drunk again on color, I know… hehe…)

And who wouldn’t love that hair? It’s meant for the boys, but we girls can rock it like a pixie cut, too! Hot-cha!

Next week’s color is Iron, and I doubt that I’ll have to do any shopping for that, but probably will.

Coral was definitely a challenge, but it was so much fun. I now have a bunch of “almost-but-not-quite” coral items in my inventory, which is fine because I love the color and the retail therapy was much needed.

However, I’d just like to say that I truly appreciate being able to modify the color a bit on certain items so I can get them to match perfectly. Otherwise I would have gone bonkers trying to find shoes! (Thanks again, G. Field. You rock.)

The next color in The Challenge is Electric Indigo, which I will hesitate from declaring will be simple, because the moment I do… it will pull a Coral on me. Haha!

It was fun (and eye-opening) to go back and review all of the images from the past year. It always surprises me when I realize the amount of emotional connection that I have with my own avatar and the avs of others. Isn’t it strange to look at a picture of a virtual character and say “Awww…look how much she has changed!” or “He looks so cute in that outfit; it really suits his personality.”

It sort of warps my mind – after all, they are just virtual characters!

Or are they more than that?

*whew* It took me about 3 weeks to catch up with everyone, but I was determined to finish this project. I’ve had so much fun at the Vintage Fair – once I could finally get in there and move around, that is! When I spied this little number I knew it was just the thing for the Color Challenge selection of Cream. Pretty, huh?
