In my last post, I joked about the color patriarch as possibly having the flavor of oppression — however, I do believe that this ensemble could successfully change the name of the color to matriarch, with no oppression involved. It evokes the idea of a beautiful, confident, and powerful — and hopefully benevolent! — female ruler.

Next week’s color in The Challenge is melon. Sweet, juicy, succulent… feminine. Hmm. Maybe I should get one of the Men of Alphabrat to do that one, just to mess with the color/gender stereotypes again!?

I can’t help it! Most colors have flavor memories to me.

However the next color in The Challenge is Patriarch, and for the the life of me, I cannot summon a taste memory for that. Does it taste like oppression? hahaha… I guess we’ll see!

Celadon – just under the wire! I’m usually early with my Challenge posts, but this week has been filled with craziness and summer busy-ness, so I’m running late!

Celadon was a fun color to do, but I am really looking forward to LEMON next. Just typing that word makes my mouth water! Be sure to come back for a visit and see what happens with that pretty, summery color.

Cool, refreshing, and somehow ELECTRIC, too! This is one of my favorite shades of blue. I see that next week’s color in The Challenge is celadon, which might be the most difficult for me since umber.

Oh, umber, how you eluded me. I am wondering now if everyone who is doing the Challenge has one (or maybe more) weeks where they feel like they were just a smidgen off in their color choices – and are haunted by that imperfection, like me.

Hah! I’m so neurotic.

All in all, I think I’ve done pretty well. I’d give my choices a “B” overall, and a couple of the ensembles were definitely “A” work.

I think at the end of the Challenge, I will choose and link to my 5 favorites outfits of the year. For now, I’ve got to start snooping around the grid for some celadon!
