Periwinkle has been one of my favorite colors since childhood. First, because the name sounds kind of funny and second, because sometimes it’s more purple than blue… then when you look again, it’s more blue than purple! You just gotta love a color like that.

The dusky, mellow violet hue of “eggplant” from this week’s Color Challenge shall now live in my memory forever! This was a tough one for me (just like umber was), because I was seeing the color everywhere, but couldn’t believe my eyes/monitor. I was very happy when I found this pretty blouse and it was true to the display in the store.

(Gonna be a lot of “sort-of-almost-eggplant” purple clothes showing up in my posts over the next few months… haha!)
